We celebrate the sacrament of Confirmation every year with students in the eighth grade who determine, together by their parents, that they are ready. Confirmation is a mature, adult affirmation of the promises made at baptism, often times by the parents when the child was an infant. Confirmation is the responsibility of the candidate, who needs the help and guidance of their parents and sponsor.

As a parent, it’s your responsibility to help discern with your teen if they are ready to make the commitment to be confirmed.

Confirmation Boot Camp

If you haven’t registered, you need to by April 1, 2012!

The Confirmation Boot Camp summer session can cover the instructional preparation. It’s held in the PAC double classroom. We need a minimum of 8 students to make these sessions possible. If interested, register ASAP with Kelly Jacobs in the parish office.

Confirmation Retreat (Mandatory)

Friday, August 10 through Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Saints Peter & Paul Retreat Center in Newark.

Sponsor and parent letters for the retreat are due Friday, July 13, 2012, and can be dropped off, emailed (kellyjacobs@saintjosephplaincity.com) or mailed to:

*We realize some sponsors will be coming in from out of town. Sponsors will not be required to attend Confirmation practice on Friday, November 2, but are welcome to join us!

Confirmandi and Sponsors must arrive by Noon for final walk-through and preparation!
