Knights of Columbus

Knights of Columbus - Knights are Catholic men, 18 years of age or older, who are committed to making their community a better place, while supporting the Church. The St. Joseph Knights of Columbus Council is very active, and has won a few awards for their wonderful service projects. Every year during Lent, they fill us with fabulous fish, and you never have to look far to find evidence of their involvement in our parish. If you are interested in more information, or if you are a man interested in joining, please contact any active Knight or the parish office. Read the latest in the monthly newsletter, “The Carpenter”.

Baking Angels Needed for Fish Fry Fridays

The annual Knights of Columbus Fish Frys begin on Friday, February 24. Our parish has become known not only for the best fish around, but also for the biggest and best array of desserts. St. Martin de Porres will coordinate the desserts again this year.

Bakers are needed for all six weeks of Lent. Dates of the Fish Frys are February 24, March 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. Goodies need to be at the PAC on Friday. They can be left on the dessert table or in the refrigerator or freezer.

Cakes, pies, cookies, brownies, bars, gooey, elegant, sugar-free–ALL are welcome! Desserts should serve 8-10 and be in a non-returnable container if possible. Make sure your name is on anything you wish returned. (Little sticky address labels are good for this, with a piece of tape across it to preserve it through dishwashing.)

Contact Gloria Butler, 614-581-1240 or jim.glo@frontier.com, with questions or to sign up for one or more weeks of baking.

Last year, more than $900 was raised for charity through the dessert table’s free-will offering. This year’s goal is to exceed $1000.
